Başkent University is a foundation university with a public legal entity established by the Government Decree No. 515 dated September 14, 1993 and the law No. 3961 dated January 14, 1994. The health studies initiated by the Turkish Organ Transplant and Burn Treatment Foundation in 1982 today provide services with a total bed capacity of 526 beds with a closed area of 57,505 square meters, 368 beds in the center, 79 of which are intensive care, 90 beds in our Ayaş Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Center and 68 beds (28 beds in the palliative care unit) in our Yapracık Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Center, and a diagnosis and treatment center with a modern and technological structure, laboratory, imaging units and operating rooms. Our hospital, which provides 24-hour uninterrupted service with its 16 operating rooms, has a unit where outpatients are admitted without being admitted to the ward. This unit is also supported by a 6-bed observation room. In addition to our physicians, equipment and technical equipment, in order to respond to increasing patient demand and to ensure that the health services we offer to our patients are provided in a modern physical environment, we have initiated a series of studies as of January 2010. In order to ensure that the health services we offer to our patients and their relatives receiving service from our hospital are provided in the most comfortable way and to respond to the increasing demand for our hospital, it continues to provide services to our patients with its renewed appearance in 2012. Located within Başkent University Ankara Hospital; The Organ Transplantation Center, In Vitro Fertilization Center, Genetic Diseases Diagnosis Center and the related Ayaş Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Center, Çiğdem Dialysis Center, Yenikent Dialysis Center, Yenikent Neighborhood Polyclinic, Ümitköy Neighborhood Polyclinic and Ümitköy Dialysis Center provide services to our patients in different locations in Ankara. Quality improvement studies have been carried out in Başkent University Hospitals and Application and Research Centers since 1997, the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Standard are fulfilled in all our centers and our center is certified by the Turkish Standards Institute. In addition, our hospital has the distinction of being the first foundation hospital to receive the ISO quality certificate. It is a hospital with the Baby-Friendly Hospital certificate. In addition, our hospital ranks first in the number of scientific publications per faculty member.
